Maureen Patin, What
a Good Dog! Trainer/Instructor, takes great
pride in helping families achieve their
dream of a well trained family pet. Her
experience includes teaching obedience classes,
training for and competing in AKC obedience
trials, working in veterinary clinics, fostering
rescued dogs and working with local animal
shelters.
Maureen is an AKC® Approved
Canine Good Citizen® Evaluator. She is also
an active participant in the two leading
industry groups for

dog professionals, the Association
for Pet Dog Trainers and the International
Association for Canine Professionals. She has
completed hundreds of hours of education in canine
behavior modification. Her thorough understanding
of canine behavior and many different methods of
training enable her to choose just the right method
for you and your dog.
The Rover Resort Board & Train
program is a great way to get a big head start
on the training and behavior goals you have for
your dog. In this program, your dog will reside
at Rover Resort full-time, Monday through
Friday, during the two week program. Maureen will
conduct three training sessions with your dog
each day. This level of focused, personalized,
professional training yields impressive results
much more quickly than would be achieved through
other means. The training curriculum will be personalized
to address your priorities. However, a typical
program includes: Walking on a loose leash without
pulling Coming when called…reliably Sit Down Stay
No Jumping The secret to lasting results with
this, or similar programs, will be the owner’s
ability and commitment to properly reinforce all
the new behaviors. It will be important that the
entire family learns and follows the new ways
to interact with their dog. To address this critical
element, the Rover Resort Board & Train program
includes a written training report and two lessons
(each one hour long) with the family. The written
report summarizes the proper way to reinforce
the new behaviors and includes other behavior
recommendations specific to your dog. Also, Maureen
is available for additional follow-up lessons
when needed. Two week Board & Train program (Monday
– Friday) is $800 per dog.
