Board & Train
We offer a popular Board & Train program which allows your dog to get a big head start on obedience with our professional trainer, Maureen Patin, CPDT of What a Good Dog! LLC. Maureen is an expert trainer who uses effective, dog friendly methods to achieve great results. Your dog will love the training and so will you! At the conclusion of your dog's Board & Train stay, Maureen will teach you how to reinforce the training at home.
How it Works
With Board & Train, your dog enjoys all the pampering and amenities of being a guest at Rover Resort. Additionally, during his stay, he will enjoy multiple daily professional training sessions, utilizing reward-based training methods. Our trainer will custom tailor a training program to cover the behaviors that are most important to your family. This is an excellent option for busy families. Focused, expert training can create dramatic improvements in obedience and behavior. Most importantly, our programs include teaching your family how to reinforce the new behaviors.
Undoubtedly, the key to success with these programs is the family learning to support the new behaviors. Families who embrace the new ways of interacting with their dog are rewarded with positive, permanent results. Board & Train is a great way to get a big head start on your dog's training.
Board & Train Options
Our Board & Train program is highly flexible. We'll work with you to design a program that fits your goals and your budget. Here are our most popular options:
Two Week Program:
This popular program provides your dog with ten days of intensive training. The typical dog completes a full basic training regime in this time frame (loose leash walking, sit, down, stay, wait, no jump). Dogs who start the program already knowing basic commands are often able to progress to more advanced behaviors, such as off leash work, place command, etc. Your family will receive an hour long lesson at pick-up time and a follow-up lesson a week later in your home.
Tune-Up Training:
This service is offered exclusively for dogs that have completed one of our training programs. Tune-up Training gives you an opportunity to have your dog brush on their skills while enjoying their stay at Rover Resort. Your dog will love the fun tune-up training sessions with Maureen. Based on availability, you can purchase the number of days of Tune-up Training that suit your needs. Cost varies.
